Manufacturing linear shape of wool or parts, can be cut on the gantry shears. If using a conventional shears, carefully check whether the equipment can cut the titanium plates. Titanium alloy plate with thickness under 35 mm has been able to cut out the required size under production conditions. Thicker sheets can also be sheared if necessary measures are taken to avoid slipping during shearing. To prevent skidding, greater clamping pressure is required. On the edge of the cut titanium plate, especially for the thicker titanium plate, the linear deviation is 0.25 -- 0.50 mm, this deviation is usually caused by the lack of rigidity of the cutting edge. This defect can sometimes be overcome by using a thicker cutting edge. If the modification of the retaining device, and the use of digital display, fine-tuning and other technologies, can also improve the accuracy of the cutting. The edge crack depth of titanium plate shall not exceed 0.4mm, which can be removed by grinding and filing with grinding wheel. If the cutting will crack the key part, the cutting method such as band saw should be considered. When using the gantry shears to cut the material, the minimum clearance between one side of the scissors is 2-3% of the material thickness, the shear Angle is 75-85 degrees, the back Angle is 2-3 degrees, and the inclination Angle of the blade on the oblique-blade shears is 2-5 degrees. Titanium plate can also be used for ordinary rolling shear equipment. Circular shear contours with a large tangential radius of curvature (minimum radius approx. 250 mm). This method is used for titanium plates with a thickness of F less than 2.5 mm. At present, the vibration shears are only suitable for cutting titanium plates with a thickness of 2 mm or so. The edge of the wool sheared must be filed or ground, leaving a filing allowance of more than 0.25 mm. For thin material (thickness < 0.8mm), when the quantity is not large, can also be cut by hand with lever or hand cut.
Generally, the desired shape of wool is cut in one punch. Usually for wool of simple shape, the maximum blanking thickness is about 3 mm. The cutting die of titanium plate should be rigid enough to keep the upper and lower die in exact relative positions with guide posts. When manufacturing all kinds of flat parts or all kinds of shapes of wool, the minimum size of titanium plate punching hole and the minimum radius of punching part's connecting edge shall meet the requirements. In addition, punching and shearing machine can also be used to blanking. During processing, small punching die is used to punch out the crescent cut and connect it, so as to cut out the parts burrs. Then, the edge is repaired, and its edge quality and accuracy are not as good as punching die blanking and efficiency is not high. The advantage of punching and shearing processing is that the production preparation cycle is short, and it is often used for small batch production.

Band saw processing efficiency is higher, production preparation is convenient, but not suitable for processing too thin materials, often used to cut the thickness of more than 3 mm titanium plate. This method does not produce edge cracks, its disadvantage is burr, after the material must be polished. At present, it is mainly used for trimming, trimming and cutting. Band saw cutting can be divided into three categories: frictional type, semi-frictional type and common band saw. Due to the high linear velocity, violent friction occurs between the blade and the workpiece during the friction-type band saw operation, and the temperature in the cutting area is very high, thus reducing the cutting resistance of the material, improving the machinability and high efficiency. The band used for titanium saw should be rigid and have enough power to maintain a constant speed when cutting. Should be able to automatically feed, tensioned band saw and provide adequate coolant. With the usual high speed steel band saw the edge is maintained and the result is stable. Tungsten carbide blades are used to cut exceptionally thick materials, reducing burr height and depth under heat.
Use a milling cutter to cut a stack of titanium plates to the desired shape, with the milling head moving along the milling template, or use a large CNC sheet metal milling machine for automatic milling. For concave curves or flanged edges under tension, polish in front of forming waist to prevent cracks.
